Act Your Way In AND Out of a Paper Bag! (Scene Study Workshop)
Are you an experienced actor who is ready to take your acting to the next level? Or are you a beginner, and you’d just like to dip your toes in the acting pool? Either way this class if for you! Taught by NYC based actor and teaching artist, Amelia Huckel-Bauer, this fun and focused class will allow students to add some new techniques to their actor’s tool box, as well as sharpen and hone basic skills. Each student will work on one scene and one monologue during this 6-week class. We will use both physical acting and method acting techniques to explore character, script analyses, partner work, physicality and vocal work. Students will use imagination and personal experience to breathe life into their chosen characters. No experience needed, just a desire to be brave, explore and have fun!
Workshop will be held on **Tuesdays beginning January 9, 2018 and continuing January 16, January 23, February 6, Monday February 12 for a final rehearsal and concluding February 13 where parents are invited to attend. All sessions will be held from 7:30-9:00pm at The N.Y. Dancers Studio 388 Merrick Avenue East Meadow NY 11554 (516) 489-8795. Fee $225. Ages 4th grade and up.

Acting Workshop with Amelia Huckel-Bauer
Amelia Huckel-Baur is a New York City based actor and teaching artist with a BFA in Acting from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, where she studied at the Lee Strasberg Film and Television Institute and Stonestreet Film Studio. Amelia also holds an MA in Educational Theater from Steinhardt, NYU. She is the founder of Elora Theater Arts, an educational company.
As an actor, Amelia works with Red Monkey Theater Group where she has played Hunter in Neil Gaiman’s NEVERWHERE, Silvia in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Julia Stonor in Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Speckled Band and Chick in Crimes of the Heart. Amelia also works with EMIT (Educational, Mobile, Immersive Theater), with whom she us currently rehearsing The Tempest. Last season with EMIT, she was seen as Lynsander/Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet and Gertrude in Hamlet. Other NY work includes Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lucille in John Patrick Shanley’s Pyschopathia Sexualis and Flannery in Mrs. Schrodinger’s Cat at the New York International Fringe Festival.
